THE trip on Wednesday, 27 June was enjoyed, but it was a little too hot for most of the 32 members who took part.

Starting with a break at Llandovery they proceeded to the highest point on the Black Mountains where they had ice cream and other refreshments, including pop and water donated by Spar. Then via Brynamman to Ammanford where there was a further stop for an hour before the return journey. Dinner was taken at Lloyds Fish and Chip Shop in Lampeter and Tregaron finally reached by 8pm.

MEMBERS had a wonderful evening entertained by harpist Heledd Davies in May.

They also had an additional games evening at the rugby club, playing darts, dominoes, whist and bar skittles, and enjoyed Glenys’ excellent food at the same time.

At the end of the month, Jenny and Julia organised the annual Treasure Hunt.

Sadly, Ffair Caron wasn’t held this year so the Carnival Committee organised a table top sale on Bank Holiday Monday in the Memorial Hall.

The week starting 11 June had been designated as health and fitness week and involved a walk and picnic on Cors Caron. They also helped with litter-picking.

The next meeting on Wednesday, 11 July, will be held in the Memorial Hall starting at 7.30pm. Lona Mason will be talking about ‘Art at the National Library of Wales’.
