THE official opening of the 2019 season will be on Saturday, 13 April at 3pm.

Again, on 13 April at 7.30pm, a quiz night will be held.

Clwb Cerdded/Walking Club

THE next walk is scheduled for 13 April and has been organised by Avarinah Davies 01974 298259 and Lucy Swannell.

The walk is called ‘Discover – Bronze Age Hillforts’.

The Tregaron area has an array of hillforts in some amazing locations. The remotest is that of Castell Rhyfel.

Discover this hillfort by starting in the Groes Fawr valley and heading up to Carn Gron (541m).

Then return via an undulating ridge to the grassy summit of Castell Rhyfel, a late Bronze Age (or earlier) meeting place. Great views of the Cambrian Mountains down to the town.

The walk is to last approximately four hours and is graded a moderate walk over a distance of 6.6 miles, with an ascent of 407m/1,335ft. Meet outside the Talbot Hotel at 9.30am.
