CYNHALIWYD noson gymdeithasol cyn-ddisgyblion Ysgol Uwchradd Tregaron gyda sgwrs a swper ar nos Wener, 12 Ebrill yn Neuadd Ysgol Henry Richard.

Dechreuwyd y cyfarfod gan y cadeirydd, John Meredith cyn iddo sefyll i lawr ar ôl dwy flynedd yn y swydd.

Yna cafwyd adroddiad gan yr ysgrifennydd, Cyril Evans cyn iddo yntau ymddeol o’r swydd ar ôl saith mlynedd. Cyflwynwyd anrheg i’r ddau gan y cadeirydd newydd Joan Evans.

Cydymdeimlwyd â’r trysorydd Annwen Davies yn ei absenoldeb. Etholwyd Odwyn Davies yn is-gadeirydd o’r Gymdeithas. Canwyd emyn yr ysgol â Neli Jones yn cyfeilio. Y swyddogion am 2019 fydd: cadeirydd, Joan Evans; is-gadeirydd, Odwyn Davies; trysorydd, Annwen Davies; ysgrifennydd, Hefin Evans.

Cafwyd cyflwyniad difyr gan ein gwestai, Ifan Gruffydd, yn sôn am ei ddyddiau ysgol hyd at wyna eleni! Yn dilyn hyn, roedd gwledd o fwyd yn disgwyl yr aelodau oedd yn bresennol. Diolch i Glenys am drefnu’r bwyd. Fe fydd yr aduniad nesaf yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Sir Conwy eleni ar brynhawn Sadwrn, 10 Awst am 1yp yng Nghymdeithasau 1. Clwb Cinio THIRTY-SIX members attended the lunch on Wednesday, 24 April in Y Talbot. They had a pleasant meal and the entertainment was provided by Olive and Yvonne. They brought a lovely selection including bags, purses, scarves, tops, dresses, and jewellery which members had an opportunity to buy. In their presentation Olive and Yvonne told how they met when they were nursing, their initial business adventures selling bags at different shows and their progression to selling a wider range of goods in pop-up shops. Their base is now Pethau Olyv in St Clears which offers an extended property with a small coffee shop where anyone interested in the wide range of goods can chat with the staff and take their time to browse the goods on offer. They do lots of charity events in the local area as well as visiting groups like WI, Merched y Wawr, Pony Clubs, Golf Clubs, Fashion Shows, etc. They judged the Easter bonnet competition and the members had more opportunity to buy items. Next month’s lunch on Wednesday, 22 May, will host Karine Davies talking about nurses in the Crimean War. Please let Delyth know if you would like to attend. Clwb Cerdded/Walking Club THE next walk is scheduled for 11 May and has been organised by Ian Tillotson 01974 298329. The theme, Nature, will begin in the Radnorshire Wildlife Trust, Gilfach nature Reserve. They will commence by following some of the woodland and riverside footpaths, and make the ascent to the summit and viewpoint of Yr Wylorn. After lunch at the reserve centre we will head towards Tynshimley they from there into the valley of River Wye. Following the river bank upstream to return to the reserve entrance. Toilets available at the reserve centre. The walk is to last approximately five hours and is graded an easy to moderate walk over a distance of eight miles, with an ascent of 260m/ 850ft.
