History Society

Tywyn and District History Society invites people to join them at their next meeting on Monday, 11 June at 7.30pm in the Baptist Church, High Street; £2 at the door for members, £3 non-members.

The speaker will be Mike Green on the subect of Bryn Eglwys Slate Quarry, near Abergynolwyn.

Other activities will include a quiz and a report back on progress on the town trail project.

During the meeting there will also be opportunities to register for the society’s ‘History Hunt’ on Monday, 9 July and to book for a coach excursion on Wednesday, 29 August.

The coach will leave Tywyn at 8.30am with a morning break at Aberaeron before heading to Lampeter where the group will be hosted by local historian Selwyn Walters for a tour of the university, a museum visit and highlights of their town trail.

After a scenic drive, the final stop will be a celebratory tea at the Hafod Hotel at Devil’s Bridge. Arrival at Tywyn will be shortly after 6pm.
