Garden club

ON Tuesday, 12 March, the club met at the Baptist Church. The speaker for the evening was Allan Evans from Conwy who gave an informative talk on how to grow sweet peas and about his life as a gardener.

He explained many things about growing quality flowers with long stems for homes or for showing.

The vote of thanks was given by Hilary Harrison and the lucky door number was won by Quentin Deaken.

On Tuesday, 9 April the club will hold an open meeting, when all will be welcome at the Baptist Church.

The speaker will be Canon Michael Rees, who will show slides and talk about Calles en Flor (streets of flowers) a place we would all like to visit this summer.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm prompt.

Rotary Club

IN CO-OPERATION with Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland and the Stroke Association, in a bid to conquer stroke, residents and visitors in the Tywyn area are invited to a free blood pressure check.

A medical team will be available on Saturday, 20 April from 9am until 1pm in the Baptist Church on High Street to give advice and monitor blood pressure.

High blood pressure remains the single biggest risk factor for stroke, contributing to over half (54 per cent) of strokes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
