Garden Club
THE club held the first meeting of the season on 11 October at the Baptist Church.
Chairman Margaret Evans, welcomed members and new members. A number of apologies were received. The advertised speaker, Vicky Bumford unfortunately had to cancel at last minute, due to family health problems. Very lucky for us, secretary Susanna Yeomans found Ann Owen, who at very short notice kindly agreed to step in and fill the vacancy. She was a very motivated and lively speaker, showing slides and speaking about her work with The Edible, Machynlleth project. The club very much enjoyed her talk on ‘growing vegetables when it matters.’The vote of thanks was given by Elisabeth Brown. The next meeting is on 8 November at 7.30pm in the Baptist Church. The speaker will be Eurwyn Roberts, who will talk about ‘preparing plants for Winter.’
