THE next walk-in session of the Hearing Aid Clinic will be held on Thursday, 3 August, from 10am till noon at Tywyn Baptist Church.

Service and fittings will be done while you wait.
Annual Strawberry Tea
GWEN and Gerald Stevens would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported them.
Although the weather on Tuesday, 11 July, was atrocious, plans had been made to transfer the tea to the Baptist Church in such an event.
The afternoon was enjoyed by all who attended.
Over £400 was raised, which has been donated to four local charities.
A special thank you goes to those who gave their time and effort in helping to make the afternoon a success.
Rotary Club
ON Thursday, 20 July, The Rotary Club of Tywyn was pleased to invite George Buckley from the South Meirionnydd Older People’s Forum to give the club a presentation on the charitable work done by the group for the benefit of older people in the area.
The work of the forum involves keeping the elderly informed of any relevant day-to-day issues of which they should be aware including advice on benefits and local topical subjects that would be of interest.
The forum organises monthly meetings for companionship and to answer questions on any issues that anyone may have. The group also publishes information booklets and organises social lunches throughout the year such as the Christmas lunch and strawberry teas.
All expenses are covered by donations to the forum. The group has a total membership of about 150 people and their regular monthly meetings are well attended, attracting about 40-50 members.
Club president Nancy Clarke thanked George for an interesting and informative presentation and as is the normal practice with guest speakers at club meetings, presented him with a cheque for £200 towards the work of the Older People’s Forum.
