Garden Club

ON 13 March the Garden Club held a well-attended meeting at the Baptist Chapel Hall.

The secretary, Sue Yeomans, advised that the annual outing will be to Bodnant Gardens on 7 June. This will be an open trip to which all are very welcome.

They are also holding an open meeting on Tuesday, 10 April, at which the head gardner at Bodnant will be speaking.

This will no doubt be very useful as an introduction to the visit.

The re-arranged AGM of the Meirionnydd Horticultural Society will take place on 30 March.

Quentin Deakin, one of the members, gave a most interesting talk on the importance of providing a good balanced soil for plants.

They all wrote down what we believed to be soil constituents and it was surprising how many there are.

Janet Handcock gave the vote of thanks. Phil Malin stepped in to help Angela Rowlands make the tea. Thanks Phil.

The raffle prize was won by Hilary Harrison.

They hope to see many visitors at the open meeting on 10 April.

Public meeting

A PUBLIC meeting on housing has been organised by the local branch of the Labour party.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, 18 April, at the Baptist Church, High Street, starting at 7.30pm.

Invited speakers with experience in the field of housing provision.

All welcome.
