Madam,
In her letter in the Cambrian News of 9 March, Cllr Mair Benjamin states that, whilst she welcomes the new job opportunities being created by Marks and Spencer, there is a “fluidity of jobs being created by the retail section”. She further claims that “every time a large supermarket opens, jobs are lost in the local community’. However, a few paragraphs later, Cllr Benjamin refers to the planned Aldi development and writes, “we need Aldi and I am looking forward to its arrival”. I fail to understand how her views on supermarkets and this comment equate. Why is Aldi needed but Tesco and M & S causing a loss of jobs? I would be interested to learn Cllr Benjamin’s reasoning behind the conflicting statements.
Yours etc
