Madam,
I respond to the lady who asked the question in last week’s Cambrian News, “who are these jet voyeurs?” These “voyeurs” are just ordinary decent folk who climb the slopes of Cader Idris to aesthetically photograph the passing aircraft. In doing this they support and encourage the brave men and women who do essential training to help defend the lady’s freedom to protest. It is an insult to call them enemies of the peace, as much as it would be to say the same of the Battle of Britain boys who saved us from Nazi tyranny.
It is also an insult to call the “plane spotters” voyeurs, which means perverts (check the dictionary).
My wife and I love wild country and nature - we climb Cader Idris frequently and find it a small price to pay when an occa-sional aircraft disrupts the peace we enjoy. In fact we appreciate their passage.
To use the term “long-suffering inhabitants of these victimised areas” sounds hysterical to say the least. How many opinions has she sought?
Yours etc
Roy Peel
Llanelltyd.
