Ceredigion council chief executive Eifion Evans and Cabinet member Dafydd Edwards are meeting with Welsh Government Environment Minister Hannah Blythyn in the Teifi Valley today about the damage caused by the floods.

Council leader Ellen ap Gwynn told a cabinet meeting: “I do hope financial assistance will follow that meeting.

"However judging by the past I’m not holding my breath on that. At least she has come to see the damage that was caused.”

Sympathy was also expressed for those hit by the flooding, including the family of a Newcstle Emlyn man who died.

And council staff were praised for their reaction to the floods and the help they provided to people affected.
