Madam,

Over the last few months gulls have become a galling feature of the Maes, Pwllheli, where their greedy swooping and loud, aggressive squawking are causing harassment and distress to the public.

Hopefully Gwynedd Council will act against the irresponsible people who find it amusing to feed the growing flocks of gulls. Swingeing fines could be one way of addressing pressing budget shortfalls.

Our mayor and his team must ensure that our iconic Maes does not degenerate into a ‘no go’ area, as Easter is just around the corner and Pwllheli must remain a hub tourist destination, especially as the Maes is the scene of our open-air market.

Yours etc,

E Roberts, South Beach, Pwllheli.
