Madam,
In order that I can get a few matters clear in my mind before the election, I wonder if your readers could answer a couple of questions for me regarding Brexit?
Firstly, if Brexit is so bad, why are we continuing to see net migration figures at exceptionally high levels into our small and overcrowded island.
We hear a lot about how Europe may not want to take our exports or will inflict tariffs when we leave but does this mean that BMW, VW group & Mercedes (to mention a few) will not be wanting to send their products here? After all, we buy more from Europe than they buy from us.
We have our difficulties with Spain regarding Gibraltar but will the Spaniards be happy if UK residents start going for their holidays elsewhere or even stay at home? After all, the parts of the UK which do not suffer from severe overcrowding are lovely.
And finally, why do we owe them €100 billion? If we do owe this sum, you would have thought we would have to pay whether we leave or not. If it’s an exit fee it should have been agreed and known about before we joined.
Yours etc,
Gwilym Jones, Y Golff, Morfa Bychan, Porthmadog.
