A judge has awarded a former catering employee £1,850, saying that she was unfairly dismissed from a Harlech café following a dispute over holiday pay.
Sarah Badham of Harlech had been employed at the Caffi Castell in the castle grounds.
She made legal claims at Mold Employment Tribunal against her former employers for unfair dismissal, breach of contract and for the unlawful deduction of wages.
The claims were made against county councillor Freya Bentham, trading as Caffi Castell Harlech, and the hearing took place a few weeks ago, when tribunal judge Brian Doyle said a decision would be announced later.
Shortly before Christmas, Mr Doyle published his decision in favour of Miss Badham.
She complained she was unfairly dismissed following a dispute about her holiday pay.
Mr Doyle announced that Miss Badham had been wrongfully and unfairly dismissed and that her holiday pay had been unlawfully deducted.
He has awarded Miss Badham £588 holiday pay arrears and one week’s pay of £105 as part of the £1,850 total award.
Mr Doyle said there had been a 26 weeks’ loss of money for 10 hours a week at £7.50 an hour.
