A LANCASHIRE man whose careless driving resulted in the death of a “much loved” Bala pensioner was sentenced last week.

Mair Evans, 84, who was from the Bala area, died shortly after the collision, which occurred on the A494 in Glanrafon on 25 February 2016, and involved three vehicles.

On Wednesday, 1 February, Robert Michael McEwing was sentenced following a fatal road traffic collision which happened near Corwen in February 2016.

Robert Michael McEwing, 33, from Bolton, has been sentenced to a 16-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, disqualified from driving for two years, has to complete 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months and ordered to pay costs.

Mr Ewing admitted careless driving.
