A MAN is due to appear in court on Friday after admitting attacking at least five people at Black Rock Sands.

Richard Arthur O’Neill, 39, of 2 Lower Road, Coedpoeth, Wrexham, will appear in Caernarfon Crown Court this Friday after pleading guilty to attacking a crowd of people on the popular beach near Porthmadog towards the end of July.

He also faces charges of dangerous driving, driving under the influence, and indecent exposure.

A beach warden was “seriously assaulted” and three other men and two women were left with injuries after O’Neill flew into a rage on Wednesday, 25 July, at the Blue Flag beach.

He has indicated a plea of guilty for actual bodily harm towards Alun Will­iams and pleaded guilty to assaulting Christopher Bellet, Martin Yates, Clare Yates, Ryan O’Neill and Samantha Walsh.

O’Neill also admitted drink-driving after registering 57 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, approaching twice the legal limit.

The 39-year-old, who is currently in custody, has also indicated a plea of guilty for using or threatening unlawful violence, dangerous driving in a Honda Civic, and intentionally exposing himself to cause alarm or distress.
