A Bryncir man has been found guilty of child sexual assault charges, but has avoided a jail sentence.

Kelvin Gwynedd Evans, 57, was found guilty by a jury, of two charges of indecent assault and one of inciting a girl to commit an act of gross indecency.

The offences were committed in the 1970s when the victim was under 12 years old.

He was cleared of a charge of rape.

Evans appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court on Monday where he was handed a 12-month community order.

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.
