A Capel Bangor man has been jailed for 12 weeks after admitting a string of offences including assaulting a police officer and possession of drugs.

Leo James Burton, 22, of Tyncwm, appeared before magistrates in Llanelli on Monday, 11 November.

He entered guilty pleas to charges of disorderly conduct and assaulting an emergency worker in Aberystwyth on 25 June, as well as possession of cannabis on 4 October, possession of cannabis between 3 and 4 October, possession of 30 Xanax tablets between 3 and 4 October, possession of 15 Xanax tablets on 4 October, and criminal damage at the Four Seasons Hotel in Aberystwyth on 4 October.

Burton also admitted failing to surrender to bail by failing to appear before Aberystwyth magistrates on 9 October, and failing to comply with supervision requirements as part of post-sentence supervision after a prison sentence.

He was jailed for a total of 12 weeks for the offences, but will pay compensation of £50 to police Inspector Ashley Brice, the victim of the assault, and costs of £200 in total.
