A Cardigan man sent photographs of a woman’s breasts to a mutual friend in an act of revenge porn, a judge heard.
But Paul Tomkinson, 35, caused even more trouble than he hoped for when the photographs were first seen by the friend’s eight-year-old son.
Tomkinson, of High Street, admitted disclosing a photograph of a private, sexual nature with the intention of causing distress.
Craig Jones, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court that Tomkinson sent text messages to the female friend telling her he had photographs of the woman naked.
He said he would send them to her unless she arranged a meeting between him and the woman concerned.
Shortly afterwards her eight-year-old son picked up her mobile phone and asked her, “What’s this?”
Mr Jones said the horrified woman grabbed the phone and saw that Tomkinson had carried out his threat.
Carina Hughes, representing Tomkinson, said he was immature and at the time had been suffering from depression.
Judge Paul Thomas said Tomkinson was lucky not to have been charged with blackmail.
“Your behaviour was disgraceful. You sent naked pictures of her to others to cause as much embarrassment as you could. It was spiteful of you,” he told Tomkinson.
The court heard that Tomkinson had spent more than two months in jail after being accused of breaching the terms of his bail.
Tomkinson was made the subject of a 12-month community order and ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
He was also ordered to carry out 20 days of a rehabilitation activity.
Judge Thomas also issued a restraining order preventing Tomkinson from contacting the woman in the photographs.
