Two motorists accused of causing the death of Llanbadarn Fawr councillor Paul James by careless driving have appeared in court this morning (Wednesday).

Christopher Allan Jones, 40, of Tynycae, Devils Bridge, and Lowri Ruth Powell, 43, of 21 Maes yr Efail, Penrhyncoch, did not enter pleas.

Magistrates sitting in Aberystwyth declined jurisdiction in the case and a hearing will now be held in Swansea Crown Court on 7 February.

They were released on unconditional bail.

Cllr Paul James had been on his bicycle on the A487 near Comins Coch at the time of the incident, training for a charity bike ride.
