THE owners of a derelict hotel dubbed an eyesore have been fined £21,000 for ignoring a court order to demolish the building.

Aitchison Associates Ltd, who are based in Gibraltar, have also been warned by magistrates that they could be fined £100 for every day they ignore the order to demolish the once grand St David’s Hotel in Harlech.

Magistrates in Caernarfon heard last week that the company had blatantly refused to comply with orders set out by courts and Snowdonia National Park Authority and were ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £21,800.
