A former Criccieth pastor who committed over 40 sexual offences is behind bars after asking a judge to revoke his bail.

Benjamin David Thomas of Coed Onn Road, Flint, a former preacher at the Criccieth Family Church, had been released on bail on 17 July while awaiting sentence.

He had admitted 10 counts of sexual activity with a child, eight sexual assaults, and four attempts to commit sexual assault at Mold Crown Court.

The 44-year-old also pleaded guilty to nine indecent assaults, seven counts of voyeurism and two counts of making indecent videos of children.

Thomas had been due to be sentenced on 18 August but yesterday, Wednesday, he asked for his bail to be revoked, the Daily Post reports. He will now be sentenced on 29 September, after his barrister asked for an adjournment.

Any time spent on remand counts as time served towards any jail sentence imposed.
