A HARLECH thug jailed for terrorising a pensioner can have no complaints about his tough sentence, senior judges have ruled.

Kenny Lee Blake was locked up for three years and four months at Caernarfon Crown Court last September after he was convicted of assault by beating.

Blake, of Glan Gors, also pleaded guilty to possessing 14 wraps of cocaine with intent.

The 19-year-old was prosecuted after he assaulted 71-year-old Martyn Gardner near the pensioner’s home in Dolgellau.

Mr Gardner had taken exception to Blake’s rowdy behaviour and was taking photos of him when the teenager saw red.

He grabbed and threatened Mr Gardener, who said Blake also tried to snatch his camera.

Blake’s case reached London’s Appeal Court today as he challenged the severity of his sentence. But Judge Martyn Zeidman QC, sitting with Lord Justice Treacy and Mrs Justice May, rejected the appeal.

Blake’s sentence “cannot be regarded as manifestly excessive”, he ruled.
