A LLANDYSUL woman stopped while she was more than twice the drink-drive limit had argued with her partner and attempted to drive home, magistrates have heard.
Abby Rozanna Bray, of Flat 1, Manchester House, High Street, pleaded guilty to drink- driving after police stopped her following a tip off on 19 March.
Kevin Challinor, prosecuting, told Aberystwyth magistrates that police received the tip at around 10.45pm about a possible drink driver. They kept an eye out for the vehicle and stopped the Skoda Fabia being driven by Bray on the A487 near Penparc.
When officers spoke to Bray they smelt alcohol and asked her to take a roadside breath test, which she failed. A test at the police station showed Bray, 26, had 91 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
A probation report into Bray said that she had gone into Cardigan with her partner to get a takeaway meal with Bray’s partner driving as she had been drinking. While waiting for the food she had a few more drinks, but after an argument decided to drive home.
She told the probation officer that her actions were “really stupid” and that she hadn’t thought of the consequences.
Hairdresser Bray, who represented herself, said: “I’m really sorry. My actions were silly.”
She was banned from driving for 23 months and ordered to pay costs of £145. She was also made subject to a 12-month community order during which she will have to complete 50 hours of unpaid work.
