A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death last Thursday of a baby boy rushed to Bronglais Hospital from New Quay.

Police said they had been called to an address in New Quay before an ambulance crew transported the baby to Bronglais.

A spokesperson said: “Police attended an address in New Quay on Thursday, 30 March, following reports of an unwell baby.

“The baby was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he sadly later died.

“Two people were arrested on suspicion of neglect and have been released under investigation.

“The 24-year-old woman was further arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.”
