The terrible plight of the Afghan nation takes some believing in the 21st century.

All this suffering and terrible conditions should have been relegated to history.

It brings tears to my eyes to read of what their people encounter as they try to flee from the Taliban. In terrible heat with little water, babies and children are being subjected to terrible conditions.

I feel the whole world should pull together and end this misery. If they all send planes like they did with boats at Dunkirk, they could end this unbelievable situation.

They should not leave anyone behind, and getting people’s paperwork in order for them to leave should not come into it.

The world is watching and we all hope that this situation is resolved for the sake of humanity, which we seem to be losing.
