Christian Aid Week

ONCE again the local group is gearing up for the annual awareness and fund-raising activities for Christian Aid.The focus this year is on Bangladesh. Families there need urgent help to raise their homes above the constant threat of flooding. But let us not forget that Christian Aid is helping all over the world wherever there is need, includ-ing the war victims in Syria, and the refugees struggling to escape from desperate circumstances. An envelope will be delivered by our volunteers to almost every house in Llanystumdwy, Criccieth and Pentrefelin. People can make a contribution as the envelope is delivered or collect-ed, or alternatively, return the envelope to Criccieth Post Office, No 24 or Roots. On Saturday, 21 May, there will be a coffee morning in the memorial hall between 10am and 12 noon. Tickets are on sale at £2 which will include refreshments. They can be bought in advance through church members or at Newsday, or at the door. There will be lots of stalls and an auc-tion on certain selected items only. Finally there will be a United Family Service (bilingual) at Capel y Traeth on Sunday, 22 May, at 10.30am. It will be preceded by a ‘Big Brekkie’ between 9am and 10.15am, a feature nationally of this year’s Christian Aid campaign.
