A Summer Serenade
ON 19 June at 7.30pm, as part of the Criccieth Festival, Criccieth Memorial Hall hosts a concert starring young soprano Alys Roberts, who is well on her way to a successful operatic career in London. Entitled A Summer Serenade, it celebrates four centuries of music from Purcell’s Music for a While to Gershwin’s Summertime.Also performing are well-known London pianist Maurice Horhut and Bronwen Naish, who will contribute items on both cello and musical saw.They will team their talents to give what could be the world’s first ever performance of Offenbach’s well-known Barcarolle featuring the unique combination of soprano, musical saw and piano.
