Madam,
I’m writing to you as I crunch down Aberystwyth seafront, watching parents straining to push buggies through deep gravel. But I’m not walking along the beach, I’m walking along our world-famous promenade, perfectly restored after the 2012 storms. It’s teeming with visitors today but seemingly forgotten by our council.
Yes, of course there are high tides in the spring but it’s been like this for months and tourism is a massive industry for us in Aber and we certainly pay enough for a regular clean-up.
I turn the corner onto Terrace Road and stop to read the two large public notice boards erected by our council. Ooh, there’s a beer festival in Lampeter!
I read further - I’ve missed it. The poster says February 2015, in fact they all do! Such a shame they haven’t been updated to promote the fantastic events going on in our community right now!
Oh well, perhaps one of our councillors will do something soon.. After all, there’s an election coming up...
Yours etc,
Bryony Davies, Elysian Grove, Aberystwyth.
