Machynleth’s Gerddi Bro Ddyfi Gardens has won funding to help get more people involved in the work at the community garden.
The Growing Together project aims to get more people involved in healthy gardening activities and has won funding from the Community Fund’s People and Places programme.
That will allow the organisation to run therapeutic drop-in sessions and host year-round workshops and open events for the next three years.
Angela Paxton, the senior volunteer coordinator, said: “This is fantastic news for everyone involved with the gardens, and we are all so excited about what we will be able to achieve with this funding, helping more local people and families through our drop-in session and events and improving the community garden with more seating, new planting and better access for the enjoyment of all.”

As well as the work that will be helped by the funding, the gardens will also host a range of events during the year including National Meadows Day and planting a new community orchard and edible wildlife hedge as part of the group’s 10th birthday celebrations in the autumn.
There will also be a Seedling Saturday at the gardens on 13 April.
