A BRAND new musical based on the Dickens classic A Christmas Carol is being presented at Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch from Thursday to Saturday at 7.30pm.
Tom Blumberg heads up the cast of Scrooged Out!, with Dan Reilly and Hannah Roper as Bob and Mrs Cratchit, Sinead Hegarty as Belle, and Alex Neil as Scrooge’s Nephew.
Joined by a cast of talented local children, this much-loved Christmas story is told through a new musical score of 15 toe-tapping songs.
Join Scrooge on his rollercoaster journey through his past, present and future as he recounts his unhappy and neglected childhood. He will see the love of his life, lost as a young man, witness the love that is shared between the family members of his down trodden clerk Bob Cratchit and, also, what he might have shared had he taken a different path to one of greed and self preservation.
Scrooge’s transformation from miser to philanthropist can only be made complete by one thing. Can he regain the love he once lost?
Scrooged Out! has been created by local musician Keith Clements who began writing the score three years ago.
“I wanted to give this classic story a slightly different slant to previous versions,” he said, “with a more modern music score and emphasis on the love story, and a new twist at the end."
