I am disgusted and angry that someone could take flowers from the chapel in Bronglais Hospital Aberystwyth.
My father passed away in Bronglais Hospital in 1999. The family put an engraved vase in the chapel so that we could visit and put flowers in the vase. Over the years, flowers have disappeared and so I started to put artificial flowers in the vase. Unfortunately over the past few years they have gone missing as well.
When my eldest grandchild Ellie Bryan, 18 years old, died in the hospital on 17 November 2019 after being a passenger in a car in a road accident, I placed a posy of artificial flowers in the chapel for my granddaughter with a message for her attached to the posy.
I informed Bronglais Hospital that I had done this and also complained about the missing flowers over the years.
Despite their vigilance, I received a call from the senior chaplain to say that my granddaughter’s posy was missing.
How could someone be so cruel to take the posy dedicated to my granddaughter after the devastation of losing her.
I would like to thank the senior chaplain and the health board, who have reassured me that the posy at their expense will be replaced.
I would like to remind people that stealing from the chapel is devastating for the people who visit to remember their loved ones.
