Dr Fitzgerald says she will not comment further on the housing crisis (Letters, 26 November), but I would urge her to continue to fight for the youth of our country to have a secure and affordable home.

The second home community are so obsessed with defending their right to exist, they are unable to see that a large, national, rented, social housing scheme would greatly take the focus off them. We could all co-exist together.

How typically right wing of Mr Moss to raise the spurious bogey of East European state housing, for I have never alluded to that. In Britain, council housing has always been a supplement to the private housing stock, assisting those unable to buy their home.

Joyce Watson, Senedd Member, says that rented social housing is a major element of the Welsh government housing policy, so I would ask Dr Fitzgerald to join me, and others, in ensuring that policy is implemented.

I will persist in pressing for an explanation of why those six ‘social’ houses in Blaenau Ffestiniog are all for sale.
