A TALENTED teen has shone at a national horse show.

Ela Gwilym Preston, 13, from Dolgellau, was recently selected to represent Wales at the British Young Riders Dressage Scheme (under 25s) Inter-regionals competition at Richmond EC, North Yorkshire.

The Ysgol y Gader pupil has been an active member of Dolgellau and District Pony Club since the age of six and regularly represents the branch at Area competitions.

She rode her pony Morrigan Shae (Jack) bred by Sally Harris from Anglesey and was thrilled to be part of proceedings.

She said: “It was an amazing experience to be part of Team Wales.

"I had the best weekend ever meeting competitors from all over the UK and made lots of new friends.”

Ela’s next challenge will be a dressage competition at the under 25s Championships at Sheepgate in Lincolnshire at the end of August.
