Madam,

I am appalled that someone could dump 20 dead birds on the beach (‘20 dead pheasants dumped on beach’, last week’s Meirionnydd edition front page).

I find this disgusting. These breathtaking, beautiful birds, already hunted for sport, are not given the respect they earn. Our native birds are already in decline. The person doing this has no regard for nature. These birds even in death deserve better than this. There should be a big fine on the way for this person.

We humans have space on earth at the moment, birds have too. We don’t own the earth. Who, anyway, wants a world without birds. Bird song is a beautiful sound. The world would be a sorry place without our wonderful Birds.
