TWO Meirionnydd men who have lost loved ones to cancer are undertaking a climbing challenge to raise funds to battle the disease which has devastated their lives.

Rob Davies, originally from Dolgellau but now living in Machynlleth, and Rob Entwhistle-Jones, a midlander who now lives in Tywyn, will tackle both Cader Idris and Mount Snowdon in just 48-hours to raise for CLIC Sargent, a children’s cancer charity, and Cancer Research UK.

The duo, who have already collected hundreds of pounds in sponsorship, have both been directly affected by the disease with Mr Davies losing two friends to cancer and currently has two relatives being treated.

Mr Entwhistle-Jones sadly lost one parent to cancer whilst the other continues their battle with the affliction.

He has also had close friends struck with the destructive condition.

In the wake of their various tragedies, the Roberts decided to formulate the Two Robs, Two Peaks, Two Days challenge due to take place at the end of the month.

Mr Entwhistle-Jones was keen to do his bit to help assist cancer research.
