PENGLAIS School is still looking for a new headteacher after receiving no applications for the vacancy earlier this year.
After former headteacher Matthew Brown left the Aberystwyth secondary school in July, after less than three years in the job, the then deputy headteacher Hayley Griffiths stepped into the role after the school announced in April that a permanent replacement had not been found.
And now, the school, which is the biggest in the county, has advertised for a “forward thinking” and “outstanding professional” to take up the role from September 2017.
The news comes after the Cambrian News revealed in April that the school had not shown enough improvement to move out of Estyn monitoring, the second stage of an escalating Estyn follow-up process which can lead to the school being placed in special measures.
The job is advertised on the Eteach website with a salary range of between £83,503 and £96,274.
The closing date for applications is listed as noon on Tuesday, 3 January, 2017.
Prospective applicants are asked to contact the clerk to the governing body, Donna Owen, at Penglais School.
