A LAMPETER nursery is to be relaunched on the campus of The University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

The university announced last week they had entered into discussions with Seren Day Nursery Ltd to take over the Gwdihws nursery.

It is hoped that the new owner, Dawn Mason Ling, will take over the nursery by Easter when it will become Seren Day Nursery.

Ms Ling, a former student of the university’s Carmarthen campus, having graduated as a qualified teacher in 2006, said “We are looking forward to developing this new business to meet the needs of the local community in Lampeter as well as for clients from the university.

Seren Day Nursery will be fully bilingual, reflecting the needs of parents in Lampeter and surrounding area.

An open day will be held in the near future where parents and their children can view the new facility and meet Dawn and her team.

Abi Jenkins, president of UWTSD Students’ Union, said: “This is a great outcome for our Lampeter students as well as the local community.

“It has been a challenging time and we delighted that all the hard work has resulted in such a positive outcome.

“The Students’ Union looks forward to working with Seren Day Nursery to meet the needs of our members.”
