Youngsters have been preparing to deliver physical activity opportunities in every Ceredigion primary school.
They have attended one-day training sessions in three different leisure centres to learn new leadership skills and how to prepare and deliver safe physical activity opportunities within their school.
The young ambassadors also took part in mini disability inclusion training to encourage everyone in their schools to get involved in activities.
Alwyn Davies, Active Young People manager, said: “Each and every young ambassador has a vital role in inspiring their peers and contributing to a more physically active school.
“It’s fantastic to see them already making a difference within their schools and enjoying being young leaders.”
Cllr Catrin Miles, Ceredigion County Council Cabinet member with responsibility for learning services, said: “It’s positive to hear that the bronze young ambassadors are delivering new initiatives within their schools.
“It’s brilliant that the children have been given this opportunity to further develop their leadership skills and have been shown how to be mindful of ensuring that the activities they deliver are inclusive to all children, regardless of their ability.
“I’m sure that what the children have learnt during the sessions and the experiences they gain during the Young Ambassador Leadership Programme will be valuable life skills that they and others will benefit from for years to come.”
