Perhaps you will allow me space to thank Penny David and her friends for their efforts to remove litter from local hedgerows. Their efforts are appreciated.
I was particularly struck by her comments regarding the snowdrops.
I have travelled the road to Lampeter via Talley from my house in Swansea many, many times for over 50 years, nowadays for the saddest of reasons.
At this time of year one thing which I looked forward to are the masses of snowdrops which are to be seen at various locations along the route. They first appear in large numbers as one passes Edwinsford near Talley, but are to be seen in greatest profusion on the downhill stretch towards the former Ram Inn on the outskirts of Lampeter.
Because of the weather, my latest journey was delayed by a week or so and I was afraid that I would be too late to see them, but there they were as usual – a joy to behold!
