AN ELDERLY woman has been hospitalised with life threatening injuries following a three car collision near Bala last week.

North Wales Police are seeking witnesses for the horrifying smash which occurred on Thursday afternoon (25 February) on the A494 near Bala.

Shortly before 4.30pm police received a report of a three vehicle collision on the A494 between Glanrafon and Bala involving a Mercedes, a Renault Modus and a Honda.

Emergency services attended and the road was immediately closed.

As a result of the collision the front seat passenger of the Renault was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital by ambulance with serious life threatening injuries.

No other person was injured.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U027570
