THREE estate agents from Meirionnydd will be doing less letting and more sweating as they take on a 100km trek for charity.

Lorraine Holmes, Caroline Smedley and Catrin Hughes all work out of the R G Jones & The Principality office in Bala and have decided to take on the gruelling trudge between Brighton and London to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

The team has to complete the arduous challenge – more than 50 miles – in less than 30 hours to be successful.

It is a very personal cause for the hardy trio as Caroline was born with defective valves and a ‘hole in the heart’.

Despite her congenital heart problem, she lives an exceptionally active life and had planned to run the London Marathon to raise money for the foundation which does so much for families in Wales.

Unfortunately Caroline’s application for the world-famous run was not successful, which led to her exploring other fund-raising possibilities.

After examining other options, the London to Brighton walk (25 to 26 June) caught her eye and she managed to rope two of her colleagues in to join her throughout her ordeal.
