A FORMER Eastenders star who has moved to the Aberystwyth area to continue on her “road to recovery” has received “a warm welcome” and is “happy” here, her representatives have told the Cambrian News.
Ex-Eastenders star Danniella Westbrook, 47, (pictured) has shared pictures and videos of her time in Aberystwyth and the surrounding area on her social media accounts.
Danniella’s media manager told the Cambrian News: “Danniella has always enjoyed the countryside, which is why she’s back permanently as it’s what’s best to continue on the road of recovery.
“The Welsh have given her a warm welcome and she’s happy there.
“As they say a little bit of country life is good for the soul.”
In one post, Danniella shared a picture of herself, surrounded by the Welsh countryside, and said: “People are inquiring as to why I’ve moved alone to a tiny village in Wales during a pandemic.
“The answer is simple, my life today is simply, simple needs simple pleasures so why not opt for a simpler way of life.
“I’ve always had a huge soft spot for Wales. I live to ride horses, walk and hike.
“So I’ve moved away from Essex I’m content I’m working on a spiritual journey with the law of attraction, learning Reiki and feeding my soul doing more yoga, started herbalife and I’m blessed, happy and free.”
Danniella shot to fame, aged 14, as Sam Mitchell on the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders in 1990.
However, Danniella has spoken openly about her past cocaine addiction.
In a statement, published on Danniella’s Instagram account, the star’s management said: “On behalf of Danniella’s management we have recommended that Danniella only keeps contact with close friends and family.
“Her messages, comments and emails have been full with questions as well as press trying to get information.
“At this moment Danniella needs time to breathe, we are all only human and deserve to deal with problems without continuous outsider opinions. Daniella will continue to better herself mentally and physically. And she is still going to keep you updated on her journey. Keep safe, keep happy and keep surviving.”
