THE grieving family of a 38-year-old van driver from the Cardigan area who was killed in a road traffic collision at Pentregat on Monday say the world will be a poorer place without him.

Ben Partis died on the A487 Tanygroes to Synod Inn road at the Pentregat crossroads after his vehicle was involved in collision with a lorry.

“Police can confirm that the man who sadly died has been positively identified as 38-year-old Benjamin Samuel Partis, known as Ben, from the Cardigan area,” said a Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson.

“Our thoughts remain with the family.”

A former pupil of Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn, Mr Partis had played football for Bargod Rangers in the Ceredigion League.

“Ben had a big character and a huge heart full of fun and warmth,” said his family in a tribute.

“His children, family and friends meant the world to him and he was a fantastic Daddy and fiancé.

“Ben was never a ’walk on by’ man and was always the first to help, full of enthusiasm and energy.

“Ben had a genuine concern for others and always put the happiness of others ahead of his own. The world will be a poorer place without him.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, who has not already spoken with police, is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police.
