AN Aberaeron mum-of-three is leading her family on a walk to raise funds for the charity which supports the special baby care and neonatal intensive care units in Carmarthen.
Kelly Forbes, 31, whose two-year-old twins Tomi and Beca Jane were born prematurely at 30 weeks, subsequently spent eight weeks in Glangwili Hospital’s special baby care unit.
The babies were so tiny that it was another five weeks before their proud mum could hold them both together for the first time.
In addition to a walk to Llanerchaeron on Saturday, 28 October, Kelly is afterwards holding a fundraiser in the British Legion Hall which will include cawl, tea and coffee, a raffle and a homemade cake stall.
“The charity Bliss provides the SCBU and NICU with incubators and keep-sake boxes as well as providing help and support for parents,” she explained.
“They even help with the cost of the accommodation which I found amazing as I stayed with the twins for the first six weeks until I started coming home for a night here and there as we have six-year-old Jac too.”
