Madam,

Can we through your pages thank those who took part and attended the (free) concert on 22 December in the Great Hall at Aberystwyth Arts Centre?

We were treated to a fantastic programme of music inter-dispersed by some well-delivered ‘Christmas cracker jokes’!

Elinor Powell’s Sgarmes were the mainstay of the programme supported by Sgarmagels, Ysgol Padarn Sant Choir, Aberystwyth Brass Ensemble and the magnificent-sounding Côr Meirion Machynlleth who all helped to provided an outstanding programme of music to set everyone up for the Christmas celebrations to come; we are certainly extremely fortunate here in west Wales to have such wonderfully talented musicians in our midst.

The concert was to raise money for the ‘lifeline services’ that Bronglais Hospital provides for the region and the fundraising held on the night will be a testament to how vital these services are to us all.
