An Aberystwyth father and son have been part of a fundraising team that has completed a road run between Cardiff and Wrexham.

Retired army captain Colin Jones MBE and his son Kristian were part of the four-man team, that included former Wales rugby captain Ryan Jones, that completed the relayed road run between the Royal Welsh Maindy Barracks in Cardiff and Wrexham, arriving on Friday, 6 September.

The run was the first challenge as part of a three-year fundraising campaign launched by Colin including several gruelling challenges to raise money for charity Blind Veterans UK.

Colin launched the fundraising campaign after a friend who was a serving soldier experienced life changing injuries and wants to raise awareness as well as money.

After completing the 134-mile road run, Colin said: “Morale has been high during the run.

“We have had fantastic support throughout and are now keen to get on with the next challenge and continue raising funds for such a worthy charity.”
