HUNDREDS of festival goers have been left stranded overnight after the Festival No 6 park and ride site in Porthmadog flooded following heavy rain.
Following the heavy rain on Saturday the parking site on Porthmadog Football Club’s ground has become water-logged leaving many cars under water.
Visitors to the festival have been waiting for several hours for tractors to pull them out of the thick mud.
Porthmadog Leisure Centre opened its doors to around 160 people for them to stay overnight as they could not access their cars.
A statement sent out in the early hours of Monday morning said a Safety Advisory Group, comprised of the police and local authorities have advised the closure of the furthest car park on the ground with immediate effect.
Festival goers who are parked on that part of the site are currently being asked to wait at Portmeirion until the area is accessible.
A statement on the festival’s website warned to expect long delays.
A spokesperson said: “The furthest parking field is still inaccessible due to safety grounds, if you are parked here please remain on site and await further instruction.
“We are assisting with the extraction of vehicles but expect long delays. Thank you for your cooperation.”
