A VALENTINE’S Disco ended in bloodshed when a fight broke out after the bar closed.
Police and ambulance staff were called to deal with the fracas at Tywyn Ex-Service & Workmen’s Club in the early hours of Sunday morning (11 February).
One man was taken to Bronglais Hospital in an ambulance as a result of the incident but his injuries are not believed to be serious.
The venue had been hosting a Valentine’s Disco on the Saturday evening.
A statement about the incident from club chairman William Simkiss has been posted on a window at the premises.
It reads: “It is a great shame that the busy and enjoyable evening ended with this unpleasant incident.
"After the bar was closed, a scuffle broke out involving some non-member visitors and the names of those involved have been taken by the police. Thankfully, despite a short time in A&E for one man with minor cuts, there were no serious injuries.”
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called shortly before 1am on Sunday, 11 February, to reports a man had been assaulted at a venue on Neptune Road in Tywyn.
“We sent an emergency ambulance to the scene and a man was taken to Bronglais General Hospital.”
North Wales Police have also confirmed the incident.
“We received reports of a disturbance at 12.45am on Sunday, 11 February,” a spokesperson stated.
“Officers attended and we are now investigating a possible public order offence/affray.
“We are looking to speak to a number of people in order to establish a clearer picture of what happened. No serious injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made as of yet.
