A FULL house congregated at the Teifi Boating Club for the official launch of the new DVD covering 50 years of boating activity on the River Teifi.
The film, produced by Teifi Boating Club member Lena Strang, shows the efforts of the early boating enthusiasts to establish the club.
“It was an entertaining evening,” said one of the members, Monima O’Connor.
“There were so many funny stories to tell and they needed to be recorded.
“I knew one of the founder members, Ernie Collins, and we laughed about the club’s history before his passing.
“He recalled being asked to approach the land owner where the club is situated now to ask if it were possible to purchase it.
“There was a robust ‘no’ and Ernie was asked to leave with a shotgun pointed at him!
“It was such a loss when Ernie died and I thought how wonderful it would be to create a DVD capturing all these memories,’ added Monima, whose husband Martyn, is power boat section secretary.
One of the earliest members, Harry Jenkins, of Cardigan, was delighted with the DVD.
